Every Tuesday at The Tetley, Leeds

Tuesday
Salsa Night

Two classes at seven, improvers and intermediate, side by side in the same room. Then dancing until ten, mainly salsa with some bachata and kizomba. Pay on the door and turn up.

Class
7pm to 8pm, two at the same time
Social
8pm to 10pm
On the door
£8 class and social, £3 social only

What you are turning up to

An hour of class, then two hours of actual dancing.

Seven o'clock, the room splits in two and both classes run at once, so you pick the one that fits. Eight o'clock the floor opens and stays open until ten. Mostly salsa, with enough bachata and kizomba to keep everyone happy. Come on your own. Everyone swaps around and nobody sits out.

This one is not for complete beginners. If you have never danced salsa, start with the Beginners course and we will see you on a Tuesday in a few weeks.

Two classes, one room, same time

Which class are you in?

The room splits in two and both classes run at 7pm. Pick the one that sounds like you, and if you are not sure just ask us on the night.

Level 1

Improvers

You have done a beginners course and you want the basics to feel solid.

Turns, timing and leading properly. The stuff that makes social dancing feel easy instead of like maths.

Level 2

Intermediate

You already social dance and you want more to play with.

Longer combinations, better musicality, and the small details that make people want to dance with you again.

Before you come

The usual questions.

How much is it?

£8 for the class and the social, or £3 if you only want the social. Sabroso students pay £3 for the class and social, and nothing for the social on its own. Cash on the door.

Do I need to book?

No. There is no list and no ticket. Turn up and pay on the door.

I have never danced salsa. Can I come?

Tuesday starts at improvers, so you would be in at the deep end and probably not enjoy it. Do the four week Beginners course first, then Tuesday will make a lot more sense.

Which class should I pick?

Improvers if you have done a beginners course. Intermediate if you already social dance and want more to work with. Not sure? Ask us on the night and we will point you at the right one.

What should I wear?

Whatever you can move in, and shoes that let you turn. Trainers with a lot of grip will fight you all night.
